Passionate about making fitness fun and sustainable and with over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry I truly believe that offering good, enjoyable and effective training requires more than just a qualification.
I started out as a NVQ apprentice instructor with Living Well Health Club, where I was also ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) trained. I then went on to have a successful career working in and managing health clubs, gyms and leisure centres in Sussex, Surrey and Greater London; including Amida Health Club, which at the time was the best in Europe. I also ran the largest circuit training class in West Sussex county, which I taught for five years on behalf of Horsham District Council. During my career I have supervised the training and development of many fitness instructors and personal trainers and have also opened and run my own health clubs in Sussex and Surrey; all of which I ran successfully for several years and were renowned for their incredible high standards of service and dynamic personal training.
Throughout my career I have consistently updated my qualifications and continued professional development and keep a keen eye on new fitness techniques and trends. Fitness is a huge part of my life and always has been, I'm as passionate about what I do now as I was when I first started out.
Qualifications include: REPS Advance Personal Trainer, Nutrition Management, Advance NVQ Level 3 Personal Trainer, City and Guilds Fitness Trainer, Circuit/Boot Camp Trainer, Studio Cycling Trainer, Technogym Cardio/Flexibility/Strength Trainer, BAWLA Instructor (Bishom Abbey, ACSM Training).
I first discovered Yoga over 10 years ago, like many I began classes as a way of staying fit and to gain greater flexibility and strength, dipping in and out of various practices. After a period of suffering with anxiety I returned to yoga once again and it was during this time that I truly discovered the power that yoga has to transform our everyday lives simply by allowing us to have a greater connection between mind and body by helping us to gain a deep inner awareness.
I am passionate about teaching Vinyasa Yoga in a way that allows my students the space to connect with a sense of ease and freedom, classes are dynamic and suitable for all, whether you are new to yoga or not. I always encourage you to take it at your own pace, working alongside the breath, simply feeling into postures in a way that feels good for your body. Each time I step onto my mat it's like I am returning home and this is a feeling I hope that all of my students can also discover and hopefully have some fun along the way.
I look forward to seeing you on your mats!
