Seasonal foods


Another tip to get you through the Autumn and Winter months is to buy food that is in season. In fact this is worth doing all year round, as local fruit and vegetables will be fresher and not have travelled thousands of miles to get to you losing vital nutrients in the process.

With the arrival of Autumn comes some fabulous seasonal foods such as: apples; cranberries; blackberries; beetroot; brussel sprouts; green & leafy cabbage, kale & swiss chard; parsnips; sweet potatoes and winter squash.

Soups are a perfect way to use winter veg and baked apples stuffed with blackberries or sultanas a yummy pudding, with sweet potato a great alternative to a normal baked potato.
